Team Bottrill 2020 Launch

Team Bottrill launches strongest ever line-up

March 2020 – Matt Bottrill, multiple national champion and competition record breaker, has announced his strongest line-up to date, with three new signings to bolster the eight-strong sponsored team.

Team Bottrill is again supported by HSS Hire, the UK and Ireland’s national supplier of tool and equipment hire and specialist services, alongside Giant, Cadex, Endura, Secret Training, the Boardman Performance Centre and Matt Bottrill Performance Coaching.

The official launch for all team members takes place on Friday, March 6th at Giant UK, Charnwood Edge, Syston Road, Cossington, Leicester LE7 4UZ.

The day will include a photoshoot with the team in their 2020 Endura team kit and a Q&A with Matt and bike sponsor Giant. Matt and the team will host a ride-out, followed by lunch and a tour of the showroom.

The team of eight sponsored riders is headed up by Matt Bottrill, who is an 80-times national medallist and most recently winner of the 2019 Eddie Soens Memorial road race – which he defends as his first target event.

Kate Allan, 2017 national 50-mile champion, comes over from Drag2Zero to join Team Bottrill rider Steph Post, who is a double Welsh 10-mile champion.

New to the men’s team line-up are elite-category roadman and winner of the classic North Road Hardriders Ashley Cox; and Phil Williams, silver medallist in both the National 25 and National Circuit Championship in 2019.

Cox and Williams line up alongside established Team Bottrill riders George Evans, Brett Harwood and Dan Barnett. Under-23 rider George is a former Welsh elite time trial champion while Brett is National Closed Circuit champion of 2015 and Dan was a member of the National 10 team winners and comp record breakers in 2014 and last year was one of the counters in the Bottrill trio that won the team prize in the National 25.

The sponsored riders will be ably supported by a team that boasts unparalleled strength in depth and includes 60-year-old Keith Dorling, a counter for the National 25 team prize in 2019; George Fox, who is targeting the 10 and 25 road bike records this year, and 2019 national 24-hour champion Graham Kemp, who will defend his title and also go for the 12-hour.

Brit Tate, Debbie Bradley, Karina Bowie-Jackson and Amy Pritchard will all support Steph and Kate in time trials as well as competing in triathlon and duathlon events.

Main targets will be national time trial championships and high-profile events such as the Tour of Cambridgeshire, while the triathlon team will be competing in 70.3 and Ironman events including the Outlaw half and full, Stafford, Wales and Holkam.

Matt Bottrill said: “This is an incredible team of prolific winners that combines raw talent and national-level experience. I am super excited to see what they’ll do this year. With the invaluable support of our sponsors I am convinced Team Bottrill is going to be stronger than ever in 2020.”
